LESSON: Step # 1 Color-Coding & Marking-Up the Passage

LESSON: Step # 1 Color-Coding & Marking-Up the Passage

Color-coding or marking-up a Bible passage is so helpful that I think everyone should learn and use this skill. I was a homeschool mom for over a decade and the most important lesson I learned was that everyone learns differently (hearing, seeing, writing, hands on) but that hands-on learning was universal. That means that we all retain what we learn when we get our hands on it. In Bible study, that requires marking-up the passage. So, get your pens, colored pencils, and/or highlighters ready because you are going to be marking up the Book of Esther.

SOUND INTIMIDATING?

Don't worry, I will walk you through it each week in a tutorial video (many weeks/chapters will be live sessions and/or replays depending on if you go through the course live with the group).

SUPPLIES:

You will need a variety of colored pens, highlighters, or markers. You can even use colored pencils like these:

Click here to view on Amazon.

These are really pretty on the page and work great to differentiate the key words and ideas.

These are the highlighters that I bought for this study. Just like the metallic colored pencils, I think they seem very "royal". ;)

Please note: They do bleed through, so you have to use them on a post-it note (write on top of a scrap piece of paper) and then add the notes to your book.

Click here to check them out.

I will probably be using some of my mildliners and other various highlighters in "royal" colors, to color-code my notes. You do not need new supplies, use what you have :)

PLEASE NOTE: In the PDF file of the Esther Bible study notecard set (which is free and included in a future lesson) you will find tips for marking-up and color-coding this book. You can mark it up in whatever way is helpful for you. But I will show you that way that I find is most helpful for me in many of the weekly tutorial videos.
