In this class you will learn how to:

• pray for understanding before you begin

• choose a verse (or 2 or 3) to "map" from the list (you will find this in a future lesson)

• do simple research of the book background for each verse (purpose, author, audience, literary type)

• locate and write out the immediate context (the verse before and the verse after the chosen focus verse that you are going to "map")

• compare the verse as written with other Bible translations

• find and research the important, interesting, or uncertain words within the chosen focus verse

• find other places in the Bible that relate to the words within this verse

• write a conclusion statement about your findings

• write a prayer, praising and thanking God, confessing to Him, and asking Him for help based on what you learned

• hide the verse in your heart by writing it out in a variety of ways to help you remember it better

  By the end of this study, you should have a very good grasp on the truth that you ARE NOT of this world. You belong to Christ and He is in heaven at the right hand of the Father. You will hopefully have been convicted of your need to remember this truth as you live for Christ each day. Through the good times and the bad. Through the blessings and the struggles. This IS NOT your home. You are NOT of this world.
