STEP #1b: (Re) Create the Scene
The next part of STEP #1 of Chapter Mapping is to (Re) Create the Scene in a narrative and Construct the Main Ideas in a letter.
Since Jonah is a narrative, put yourself in his ancient sandals and that of the other ancient people and imagine seeing the story unfold from their perspective, looking specifically at the character's behaviors and attitudes. Also, how the characters interact with others and with God.
Ask Yourself:
Who?
What?
Where?
When?
-
Why?
TIP: The section title will give you a clue as to the main topic of that section which may help you identify key truths
You can make lists, make an outline, timeline, paraphrase each verse, draw, etc. You do what works for you.
