LESSON: Step #2 Contemplating the Message and Meaning

In order to observe exactly what the passage says (contemplate), you need to be an investigator and ask yourself who is doing what, where, and why.

You can take as simple or as complex of notes that are helpful to you. It is okay if you can remember the key point of the story without taking notes. You do what works best for you!

TIP: The "scenes" of a narrative book are usually divided by the section heading. So, look for the bolded and underlined sections and take simple notes on what is happening.
