Chapter Two

John 2 brings us two standout moments that show Jesus’ power and purpose. First, at a wedding in Cana, Jesus performs His first miracle—turning water into wine when the hosts run out. It’s a quiet but amazing way to reveal His glory, and His disciples start to believe in Him. Then, things get serious when Jesus clears out the temple in Jerusalem. He sees people turning God’s house into a marketplace, so He flips tables and drives them out, saying, “Stop making My Father’s house a place of business!” This shows His passion for true worship and hints at what’s to come when He tells the people, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up,” referring to His resurrection. From joy at a wedding to bold action in the temple, Jesus begins to reveal who He really is—Savior, Son of God, and One with authority.
