Chapter Seven
John 7 shows growing tension as people wrestle with who Jesus really is. During the Feast of Tabernacles, Jesus goes to Jerusalem in secret and then begins teaching in the temple, amazing everyone with His wisdom. The religious leaders question Him, but Jesus says His teaching comes straight from God and challenges them for judging unfairly. The crowd is divided—some believe He’s the Messiah, while others are skeptical, wondering how someone they know could be sent by God. Jesus boldly declares, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink,” pointing to the Spirit who will be given to believers. The religious leaders try to arrest Him but fail because it’s not yet His time. The chapter highlights confusion, curiosity, and division about Jesus, but His message remains clear: He offers living water and invites all who are thirsty to come to Him.
